OPTILEG - Optimization of microbial interactions for sustainable production of legume proteins, beneficial for the environment and health

The OPTILEG project, which stands for Optimization of microbial interactions for sustainable production of legume proteins, beneficial for the environment and health, is a research project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) as part of the France 2030 investment plan, to the tune of around 3 million euros (Reference number: ANR-23-PLEG-0002) over a 6-year period.

The project is based on a public-private partnership involving 13 academic research teams specialized in legumes, their associated microorganisms, agronomy and processing of legume products, nutrition and human health, and 5 private partners: the reference technical institute, an union of agricultural cooperatives and leading companies in biostimulation, plant improvement and product processing.

The scientific and technical leader of the OPTILEG project is Marion PRUDENT, research scientist at INRAE Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, UMR Agroécologie.
